About the Rotate & Flip Image
Photos taken on phones often end up sideways or upside down, and scanned documents are rarely perfectly straight. The Rotate & Flip Image tool fixes orientation in seconds. Rotate left or right in 90° steps, straighten a slightly tilted photo with the custom angle slider, or create a mirror image by flipping horizontally or vertically.
For custom angles, the canvas expands automatically so no part of your image is cut off, and the empty corners stay transparent in the PNG output. Mirroring is useful for selfies, text reflections, design mockups and correcting scanned images.

Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce quality?
Rotations in 90° steps and flips are lossless in PNG. Custom angles require resampling, which is done with high-quality smoothing.
Why is the downloaded file a PNG?
Custom angles create transparent corners, which only PNG can store. Straight 90° rotations of JPG photos are saved as JPG.
Can I straighten a tilted photo?
Yes. Use the custom angle slider for small corrections, then crop the result with our Image Cropper.
