About the Photo Censor (Blur & Pixelate)
Before sharing a screenshot or photo online, it is wise to hide personal information. The Photo Censor tool lets you select any area of an image and permanently pixelate, blur or cover it with a black box.
Use it to anonymize faces of bystanders or children, hide car number plates, redact names, phone numbers, email addresses, bank details or QR codes in screenshots, and protect sensitive documents. You can censor several areas one after another, undo mistakes, and adjust the strength of the effect. Because processing happens only in your browser, your private images are never uploaded.
How to use the Photo Censor (Blur & Pixelate)
- Upload, drop or paste the image.
- Choose Pixelate, Blur or Black box and set the strength.
- Drag over the area to hide and click Apply; repeat for other areas.
- Download the censored image.
Frequently asked questions
Is blurring enough to hide text securely?
For highly sensitive data like passwords or ID numbers, use the Black box mode. Strong pixelation is also safe, but light blur can sometimes be partially reversed.
Can I censor multiple areas?
Yes. Select and apply as many times as you like. Use Undo to revert the last change.
Is the original image modified?
No. Your original file stays untouched; you download a new censored copy.
